Review by Nathan Wishart Does anyone remember Loren Avedon, nope. Anyone seen King of the Fighters, No retreat no surrender 2&3 or any other low budget pics he might have been in? Well, he turns up again, seemingly out of nowhere in this low-low-budget actioner, oh, did I mention it also stars Cynthia Rothrock, probably it's saving grace. Well I suppose I should start with the films plot which is usual of most low-low-budget actioners, it starts off a killer preparing to assassinate someone, but he's interrupted by Cynthia who clearly kicks his ass while some godawful music plays in the background, he's then unmasked and we forward a few years later. Jason Reed(Loren Avedon) is just being released from prison and does what any ex-con wants to do(visit his neglected son). He's met outside by an old work friend Keith(Steve Tartalia) (in other words, someone he used to hang around in between whacking people) and he suggests they get into old habits but Jason just wants to visit his son. Needless to say Jason tries make up for lost time with his son but it's not long before his old boss comes calling trying to convince him to come back and work for him(he even slips him some cash to get back on his feet, if only evil thugs were this nice, then everybody'd get along) Jason doesn't want to hear it. In another story though a drug bust goes wrong and a young woman takes off with a load of heroin and just happens to run into Jason Reed. Keith must now find the woman and dispatch her post haste. Jason Reed's ex-wife then enters the picture and wouldn't you know it she's the sister of Cynthia's character. Of course the young woman and Jason Reed fall in love and plan on making a new life for themselves with Jason's kid. Enter a crooked cop and you have all the ingredients for your average low budget actioner. Why Cynthia chose to do this film is beyond me, it was just bad from beginning to end, from the music to the fight scene's to the acting(don't get me started on the acting, the ex-wife is an apalling actress), I think this film was made on the budget of a rental car, everything about it seems cheap. There you have it folks, this one's for die-hard collectors only, it definitely isn't one to show your friends why Cynthia is so great, leave that to Yes Madam or Righting Wrongs for that job because this is barely adequate.
