Damn. Damn. Damn. How many ways can I say dissapointed? Before I go any further there are some things you should know. Eye for an Eye is not a action film(even if it has the perfect title for one.) It's a Sally Field drama about a mother's revenge on the man who raped and killed her daughter. Who cares about a Sally Field movie, you ask? Well I certainly didn't, but then I saw, in the RothRocket , that Cynthia Rothrock plays Sally's martial arts instructor. Nuff said. I never expected that CR would have a big part in the film. I was just hoping for a scene or two with Cynthia teaching a class. Maybe a couple of lines with the main character. Nothing big. And on top of all that, the movie would probaly be pretty good, too. But no. Eye for an Eye is merely a TV movie made with a slightly larger budget. The characters are 2 dimensional, sub plots are left hanging, the acting isn't much better than an episode of Baywatch.(Well, the acting isn't that bad but I'm still a little peeved.) Through all of this, the one thing that kept me watching was the anticipation of seeing Cynthia Rothrock in a movie with big time movie stars. Well if you decide to see Eye for an Eye, don't blink, because you'll miss CR. She does play a martial arts instructor, but she's on the screen for all of 15 seconds and you can actually see her face for maybe 2 of those. In the second scene she's in, she shows how to lead an attacker by bending his hand, but the shot is from about 30 feet away and if she wasn't speaking, you would never know it was her. Even if I wasn't expecting CR to show up in the film, Eye for an Eye is substandard. The ending is contrived and the plot as a whole stretches reality a lot for a movie that tries to be based in realtiy. Best Fight Scene N/A
