Undefeatable shares a lot with Honor and Glory. A lot. In fact, there were times where it felt like someone took Honor and Glory, shook it up, and called the result Undefeatable. Both movies share almost the exact same cast, but this time they play different roles.Cynthia Rothrock plays Kristi Jones, a gang leader with a heart of gold. She fights to make money to put her sister through college. John Miller plays Nick Dimarco, the hardened cop with a heart of gold. Donna Jason is the psychiatrist with a heart of gold. Don Niam plays Stingray, a psychopath.

Let's get the plot out of the way quickly so we can get to the real heart of this movie. Here goes. Psychopath kills Kritsi's sister. Kristi gets revenge. Okay, now we have that out of the way, lets see what's going on with Undefeatable.

Undefeatable should've been a pretty good movie. At the very least it should've been passable, but somewhere, it got off track. Way off track. There are glimpses of genuinely good acting from almost everyone. The fight scenes are very well done. And even the well tested plot has promise. But Undefeatable can't decide what type of movie it wants to be. Sometimes it's a straight martial arts revenge flick, other parts hint at a psychological drama, there's a love story buried between the lines, a little dual lifestyle plot is apparent, etc etc. One second you're looking at a campy karate flick and the next you're watching an unsettling rape scene. One scene features an outstanding forms demonstration while another features a woman tied up and being whipped with a chain. And for some reason, slow motion is used at the strangest times. And at times the film is sped up during fight scenes giving them a comical feel. Undefeatable isn't a terrible movie, but it sabatoges itself whenever I began to like it. Undefeatable does it's best to turn off it's viewers.

Oh, did I mention that everyone in this movie knows martial arts? And I mean everyone. Including Kristi's preppy sister, the psychiatrist, the football jock, the cop's sidekick, etc. etc. etc. Other elements in this movie also defy logic. CR's hairstyle sometimes changes instantly between scenes. During a fight scene outside a mall, everyone on the street seems to suddenly dissapear.CR is repeatedly referred to as a 'mixed up kid'. Added with questionable directing, it's impossible for Undefeatable to redeem itself. If you do happen to see this film, watch it for the fight scenes and keep the Fast Forward button close by.

Best Fight Scene: CR practicing with hook swords. If you ever doubted how truly talented Cynthia Rothrock is, check out her moves with these weapons.
