Whoa, this film is dark. Lady Dragon 2 is a mix between a revenge thriller and a martial arts movie. Cynthia Rothrock plays Suzy Morgan, a champion kickboxer who is married to Sonny , a famous soccer star. Billy Drago is Diego, a mobster who stashes a load of diamonds in the couple's luggage. Of course the mobster wants the diamonds back, but Sammy refuses. Mobster rapes wife,kills husband, wife gets revenge. The film doesn't really focus on fight scenes though. It concentrates more on the cat and mouse game that Suzy and Diego play with each other. Suzy kills one of his henchmen, then Diego terrorizes Suzy... and so on. Cynthia Rothrock pulls off a very good performance as a woman intent on revenge, no matter what. Billy Drago stands out as one of the best villains in a Rothrock film. Lady Dragon 2 shares almost nothing with the first Lady Dragon. The two movies share the same theme though, a woman avenges the death of her husband. Only CR and Bella Esperance were in the cast of the first movie, and even then they had totally different roles. (I think the kid in crutches in the funeral scenes showed up in the first film, but don't quote me) Even though they share the same basic theme, it's hard to compare Lady Dragon and Lady Dragon 2. The first film is more of a straight martial arts flick, while Lady Dragon 2 ventures more into the 'thriller' category, with some good fight scenes thrown in. You won't be disappointed with Lady Dragon 2, just don't expect it to follow in the lines of it's predecessor. Best Fight Scene:
Cynthia Rothrock vs Sam Jones. There really aren't any great fight scenes in Lady Dragon 2, but this one stands out. Why? Because CR fights while wearing a Colorado Rockies ball cap.(The Rockies logo is CR..get it? Cynthia Rothrock, CR...cool eh?)
