This RWO Spotlight is on the Draculina Magazine #30 pictorial and interview with Cynthia Rothrock. Draculina is an independent magazine that focuses on B-type movies and their stars. It mainly consists of interviews with B-Movie Scream Queens and articles on small budget thrillers and cult movies. Draculina isn't adverse to nudity in its pages, but the pictures aren't exploitive or erotic in nature. Nevertheless, you might want to think twice before flipping though the pages of Draculina while at school or work.

When I first heard about the Cynthia Rothrock Draculina interview I didn't know exactly what type of magazine Draculina was. I became a little worried when I found out the local comic shop kept it behind the counter in the 'Adult' rack. Questions started to go through my mind. 'Has Cynthia Rothrock followed in the footsteps of Shannon Tweed and Julie Strain?', 'Why is CR in some low budget magazine filled with unknown starlets and ads for Naked Vampire films?'

I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite the nature of the magazine, this was one of the best Cynthia Rothrock interviews in a long time. Hugh Gallagher is obviously a fan of CR's and he did a great job of asking questions that many fans have. Everything from Cynthia's start in Martial Art's to her entrance into the American film market is covered. Ever wondered if CR encountered the Hollywood tradition of the 'casting couch'? Have you always wanted to know what CR's connection to Stallone is? How about info on a couple of CR films that were never released? It's all in here.

I know a lot of you are asking, "What about the pictures?". Needless to say, the pics of CR are great. CR has been on a mission to show her softer, more feminine side and if you take the Draculina photo's as an example, she's succeeded in spades. None of the shot contain nudity but most are fairly provocative. They're very much along the lines of the pics from Femme Fatales layout of Cynthia Rothrock. Lot's of tease, no sleaze. There's also a great shot of CR with double hook swords.

The only downside is that Draculina is a small press magazine and a lot of people will have a pretty hard time finding it. The good news is, that since it's sold primarily through comic shops, there's a very good chance the one of your local shops still has a copy in it's back issue section. Go find it now. Reading about CR's films in her own words is almost as good as watching them.
