Righting Wrongs is easily one of the best movies Cynthia Rothrock has starred in. The story is compelling and the action is incredible. From start to finish the film moves at a rapid pace, with fight scenes and action sequences thrown in at a moments notice. Unlike other films Righting Wrongs doesn't rely only on action to get by, the action and plot are both above average. This movie scores high marks all around.
The story centers around Jason Chan(played by Yuen Biao), a prosecutor who is sick of seeing guilty men go free. He decides to take the law into his own hands and starts killing off crime bosses. Of course, murder is against the law, even if the victim is a criminal, so in steps Inspector Sandy Jones(Cynthia Rothock, naturally) to investigate. As she gets closer to catching Jason, the closer he gets to finding the major crime boss. The two don't realize until it's almost to late that they are actually on the same side.
Cynthia Rothrock does a great job as Inspector Sandy Jones. Sandy is a lot tougher than most of the characters CR has played, and that's saying a lot. In her very first scenes, a fight breaks out and ends with her handcuffing three men with only one pair of handcuffs. Throughout the movie she takes charge, even stormimg into court to arrest a lawyer in the middle of a trial.
Yuen Biao is equally fun to watch as the vigilante lawyer. Intense would be the perfect word to describe his character. If he's not jump-kicking bad guys or jumping his car over bridges, then he's falling from a high rise building attached to a bungee cord. Not your typical lawyer.
The ending of Righting Wrongs doesn't dissapoint at all. It tosses out the standard cliches and the ending is a total surprise. It's a perfect finish to a movie that is pure gold.
Best Fight Scene
Cynthia Rothrock vs. Yuen Biao: Cynthia and Yuen deliver one of the best fight scenes ever. The action takes place in a small room and includes ,believe it or not, a dead body.
